Renowned Sports Agent Arn Tellem “In Conversation” at Southwestern

Arn TellemArn Tellem, widely recognized as one of the most influential and respected sports agents in the world, will be the next guest for Southwestern’s “A Conversation With…” series, presented by the Biederman Entertainment and Media Law Institute. Professor Steve Krone, Director of the Biederman Institute, will conduct the discussion on Wednesday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Southwestern.

Mr. Tellem is Vice Chairman and President of the Team Sports Division of Wasserman Media Group. He has negotiated some of the most lucrative and high-profile contracts in National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball history, including over $3.5 billion in client contracts since 2008. His clients include Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Derrick Rose, Joe Johnson, Russell Westbrook and Jason Collins.

Professor Krone said, “Arn is renowned not only for his extraordinary client list and his formidable negotiation skills, but also for his class and honesty – and for being a trusted friend and advisor to his clients in matters well beyond the field of play.”

In 1989, he founded Los Angeles-based Tellem & Associates, which was acquired in 1999 by SFX Entertainment, the world’s largest producer and marketer of live entertainment. He served as Chief Executive Officer of SFX Sports until he joined Wasserman in 2006.¬† During the 2004 and 2005 off seasons, Mr. Tellem’s SFX Sports team negotiated contracts worth nearly $750 million to his clients. In 2005, he was named to The Sporting News’ list of the “100 Most Powerful People in Sports” and listed as one of Sports Business Journal’s “50 Most Influential People in the Sports Business.” Continue reading…
