Faculty in the Media

Professor Michael Dorff was quoted in the article – and the title – of  Slate Magazine’s “Kickstarter, but With Stock,” regarding the JOBS Act of 2012′s Title III, specifically equity crowdfunding: “It’s an intuitive and appealing idea – Kickstarter, but with stock… It’s also a disaster waiting to happen.”

Professor Robert Pugsley was quoted in the Christian Science Monitor (“California court strikes down teacher tenure rules in major ruling”) regarding the five key California rules affecting the hiring and firing of teachers that LA County Superior Court Judge Rolf Treu struck down recently (Vergara v. California). His comments were also picked up in the Wall Street Journal’s post on the subject (“California Teacher Tenure Ruling: Reaction from Legal Scholars”), noting that “[he] thinks the strong language from [the judge] suggests a steeper hill to climb for the teachers looking to overturn it.”

Adjunct Professor Miriam Krinsky weighed in on the task ahead for the new members of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors following the recent election in the LA Daily News article “Competition fierce in Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor races.”
